With acknowledgment and support of one of the states cultural diversity, 2MFM was pleased to be present at the Multicultural March press Launch held at the Governor Macquarie Tower on Tuesday the 4th of February 2014. The Minister for Citizenship and Communities Victor Dominello addressed the ethnic media during the launch by inviting them to take part in celebrating our vibrant, diverse and inclusive community through state-wide calendar of events including street markets, sports competitions and film screenings.
The Government is determined to make a special effort to promote its multiculturalism and strength during the month of March.
“With over a quarter of our citizens born overseas and 200 languages spoken here, we live in one of the most multicultural societies in the world, Mr Dominello said.
“Multicultural March is a time for everyone in NSW to experience new cultures and celebrate our unique diversity.”
“We want everyone to be a part of Multicultural March, so we especially encourage the public to come along to the Premier’s Harmony Dinner, the grand finale of our month-long celebration,” Mr Dominello added.
The Muslim Community Radio, being a station that fosters the growth of multiculturalism will definitely encourage it’s listeners to embrace the diversity of their communities and promote social cohesion not only during the month of March, but during every other month of the year.
