 Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, Who ordered us to implement what the Messenger brought and to refrain from what he forbade.

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

Imam Ahmad in his ‘Musnad’, Imam Muslim in his ‘Sahih’, and many others related the narration through Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet peace be upon him said:

<< commence fasting the month of Ramadan when you see the crescent then end your fast when you see it; if it is not seen then fast thirty days>>.

Based on this Hadith and others and according to the Islamic rules, we at Darul-Fatwa Islamic High Council of Australia would like to announce to the Muslim community that Sunday the 29th-6-2014 is the FIRST Day of RAMADAN may Allah grant us the blessings of this great occasion. Ameen.

ثبت لدينا بالوجه الشرعي أن أول شهر رمضان هو  يوم الأحد  الموافق 29-6-2014

أعاده الله علينا وعليكم وعلى جميع المسلمين بالخير واليمن والبركة.

فقدْ قالَ رسولُ اللهِ صلى اللهُ عليهِ وسلمَ : ” صومُوا لرؤيتِهِ وأفطِرُوا لرؤيتِهِ فإنْ غُمَّ عليكُم فأكمِلُوا العدةَ ثلاثينَ ” .
