NEMBC 2023 Conference

2MFM’s Enriching Experience at the NEMBC 2023 Conference: Empowering Voices and Advocating for Community Broadcasting.

The 2MFM team attended and participated in the NEMBC Sydney Conference held at Brighton Novotel from May 26th to May 28th, 2023. The youth conference, held on Friday May 26th, featured an engaging panel discussion on “The News Space.” Griffith University then presented the findings of its one-year research project on youth engagement and concluded with a session dedicated to fostering a Call to Action, encouraging youth participation and empowerment.

The main event on Saturday the 27th of May featured presentations on the survival of ethnic community broadcasting during digital and pandemic disruptions, the importance of accurate news for CALD communities, media and marketing strategies for stations and broadcasters, and a sector roadmap presentation.

The conference provided opportunities for insight sharing and small-group discussions among ethnic community broadcasters. Participating in the NEMBC 2023 Conference was an enriching experience for the 2MFM team, allowing them to network with industry professionals, exchange ideas, and gain a deeper understanding of the role they can play in improving the future of radio broadcasting.

Their active involvement in the conference empowered them to amplify their voices, advocate for their community, and contribute to the continuous growth and success of 2MFM.
